petrol trends

i've been jotting down petrol prices here in melbourne each time i'm at the bowser for quite a while now. about a year and a half i think. so i thought i'd chuck 'em into a a spreadsheet and see what i get.

as you can see from below, prices has gone up at a steady rate with a few spikes here and there. currency is in AUD.

well, i'm not surprised - my pocket has been feeling it ever since i started driving!

so what the question is, "will it go up this year?" well, we can project using our data. taking the trends from the whole data collection (that is, from nov '04) wouldn't really give an accurate outlook. instead, we take the last 6 months.

doesn't look all that much worse. seems to be stabalising along the 115-120AUD mark. but is still pretty bad considering how much it was when i started collecting this data :(

*sigh*

Wow... great analysis. I will stop complaining about the rising fuel prices here then. We are at RM1.62 per litre now.

nope. We export the good ones for premium price nad import cheapo ones for lower cut. =)
