After much consideration and the right opportunity (read: irresistable price), i'm now a proud owner of 'miss silvia' - Rancilio Silvia, that is.
Shock. Yes it is. Up to a week ago, it was but only wishful thinking, but it came to be :D Here it is.
A big shout out to the previous owner for this blessing. The only reason it's not used, is because he now has his own cafe/roasting business. It truly is a beautiful machine. Simple, sturdy and makes a damn good coffee (sorry presso).
I have a feeling, though, that the journey has just begun... there's just so much out there. Microfoam milk textures, rosettas, silky espressos, and don't get me started on the variety of green coffee beans to roast!
Such a rich culture and history, coffee is. So much to learn and discover! How can a humble bean whose origins come from so far away and so long ago, bring so much enjoyment to the home right here and now. Amazing!
