baguettes!

I've been taking time out to bake some bread these few days in between writing paragraphs for my thesis. This week I thought I'd give baguettes a try. The bread's based on a poolish for bakers out there. Results below...





Not too shabby eh? I meant to take a photo of the open texture (read: lots o' air pockets) inside the bread but remembered after we all ate 'em :P

the secret to the tears of the bread tops? thin razors. usually people use a 'lame' to hold the razor, but I didn't have one on hand. So i improvised and used a screwdriver instead. works a treat :D



... now back to thesis writing :(
