morning cupping and of the vege patch

Did lots of roasting last night with turbo. So what followed this morning was a cupping session. Both for the purpose of evaluating my roasts and also testing my palate. On the table were cuban altura, brazil ipanema dulce, costa rica miel tarrazu.

this was a blind cupping. first one i slurped was smoky and earthy - definitely the cuban. the next was a lil sweet, mid body, nothing to rave about - the brazil i think. last one to slurp was mild with a big fruity kick - yup, costa rica alright.

anyway, enough with the coffee-speak.

on to a tragedy in the garden. a pigeon got to some lettuce seedlings in progress this morning. totally decimated the pot it was growing in. but that got me out and about inspecting whatever damage the wretched bird may have done.

walking along looking at any holes in the raised bed...
"yes, brocollini is going strong...
beans are getting there.
zucchini is growign like a tank...
what's that yellow speck?
:O ---> first zucchini flower in the vege patch!"

stood out from the rest (coz like the whole patch is currently green).

here's a close up... isn't she lovely? (actually it's the male flower but hey...)
