dead man talking - jeff's all around me

well it's one of the rare days when i'm up early and rearing to go-go-go! ok. that's the coffee talking thru me.

something else is rather strange also happened to me. everywhere i ventured, i heard the groove of the late jeff porcaro. well, i admit, part of it was my doing coz i'd loaded 2 albums which jeff features in (in my opinion anyways). that was michael jackson's thriller and boz scaggs' silk degrees (jeff's groove really r0x here man). so i listened as i walked from my car to uni.

of course, i needed to get my coffee. so i detoured to the rmit caf and ordered. as i was counting my money (had lots of 10c to unload), i was suddenly drawn to the HIS groove again - it was "stop loving you" from toto's seventh one. damn was it good.

even tho he's been gone for a while, he's definitely made a mark on the pop scene. just have a look at the sessions he recorded in. or just pick a selection of top 10 chart topping tracks from the 70s - 80s, i can guarantee you he was behind a good percentage of them - if not all.

and tho he's gone, i just wanna be able to share his perspective in life...
