what a groove
just last night i bought the music-documentary called: Standing in the shadows of motown.

before you switch off upon reading 'documentary', consider the groove... oh man... what a groove. ordinarily documentary=boring but not in this case. the groove is so infectious. i've watched it before in the cinemas and rented it from the video shop. but man, listening to it again both moved and awe-shocked me. i'm currently listening to it as i write stuff for my thesis - hoping the groove will rub off onto the thesis :D
i really think this is a great movie but is underappreciated - both for the tales it tells and the music itself. it's a collection of old stories of these crazy cats, motown's origins and inspiring band performances.
pick it up next time you're in the video shop, play it in the background while doing stuff or something. hope the groove rubs off on you too :)
(did i mention about the groove?)
