chwee kueh

mum showed me how to make chwee kueh today - classic singaporean hawker food.

Recipe:
565ml water
140g rice flour
1 tbsp (heaped) tapioca flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil

put ingredients in a pot and whisk thoroughly. put it on a stove to thicken (but not too much).

prepare steamer. spoon thickened mixture into small moulds and place in steamer for about 6mins.

serve with salted radish (chai poh) and some nice chilli.

it's pretty simple. not much fiddling around. all you need is a good steamer and lots of little moulds :D
