man its crowded

melbourne transportation is just getting more and more ridiculous.

i was listening to the radio this afternoon and there was a discussion on melbourne's increasing need for better transportation solutions in light of the recent hike in petrol prices. also because the suburbs are being sprawled out more too.

this sparked comments about better public transport and how that would help. basically people don't use it now because it doesn't service all areas and is not frequent enough. however, to get pt up to scratch, the state government needs to invest in that sort of infrastructure. but this will only happen if it gives them political brownie points from voters.

so yar... after listening to all that i decided not to drive all the way down to city but to take pt. but look at the carpark at essendon station (photo below)... it's super congested! grr. fortunately for me someone there was a car leaving.

but man is this whole issue complicated. i'm sure there are other cities with transporation woes...
