boot problems

after formatting your drive with the intention of a clean install, what happens when your windoze installation cd doesn't want to boot ?

ordinarily i'd use a boot disk to get me a command prompt. but....... it's been a while since i've touched a floppy disk. and rummaging my pile of floppies - i couldn't find a boot disk at all!

worse still. my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive. so...... nothing left by to consult you guys - the web. specifically, in search for a solution.

and i did get one - allbootdisks! it's pretty cool. boot disks for msdos to win xp. however, what i thought was really cool was those boot disks on cd...! i think it's hard to assume that everyone has a floppy drive nowadays. and making boot cds to recover things is nice...

it's nothing new in the linux world - where you've got things like live cds, but i've never seen it for windows. more accurately, maybe i just never cared. hehe. but tis cool...

installations are going nicely now :)
