storage dilemmas

ordinarily one might associate the title of this post with having a lack of space in your room to put furniture or even desk space for your stationery. but no, not here... today, the storage dilemma for today is digital.

ok so, i've been deliberating on what to get to store all those masses of digital data. ie. research work, old mp3s and some video sitting around. of late, secondary storage (namely hard drives) have been getting cheaper by the gigabyte - to the point of it costing 65-75c per gb (aussie currency that is). quite affordable methinks in poor student terms (eg. me).

so according to the green guide from the age i have these options:

looking at it, i'll probably be satisfied with any hard drive with a 2mb buffer (as it means more bang for your bling blings). ok, here i go... hopefully i won't run into any dodgy dealers.

update:
after walking around the city the whole mid-afternoon, i've come to the conclusion that all the shops in city are pretty pricey. which gave me time to rethink this acquisition... and instead i'll get a DVD burner. yay!

stay tuned for the next episode :D
